Auther Biography- Audrey Niffeneger

Audrey Niffeneger is an American writer, academic and artist, born 1963 in Michigan. Her first printed novel was “The Time Travelers Wife”, which in 2009 also became a movie, has been her biggest success so far.
She has said that she got inspiration to the novel from love story from her personal life, and that it is a metaphor for failed relationships and miscommunication.
The idea from the beginning was to make it into to a graphic novel, but understood quickly that illustrating abrupt time travels in still images was very difficult, so she decided to express the story in words instead and created her first novel ever.
Except for “The Time Travelers Wife”, she has also written a few short stories, some graphic books and a second novel that came out 2009, called “Her Fearful Symmetry”. Her first projects though, were two visual books called “The Sprinster” and “Aberrant Abecedarium” which came out 1986.
As earlier mentioned she is also an academic and right now teaches at the Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts.
